Flutterby and Time to Play!

Yes, yes, I know it’s been pretty darn quiet here on my blog.  There have been lots of changes in my life this last couple of weeks.  For the last month I’ve been AWOL from my blog because I’ve been crazy busy at work getting the new store ready for Grand Opening.  It’s been the big project on my plate at work for the past 2 years (among many other things).  And, as we finally got closer and closer to opening, the stress levels got higher and higher.  I wish I could say it all ended well.  Well, the project was a huge success.  All my hard work paid off.  The design is amazing.  The store is gorgeous.  Then, two days after the store opened, the company laid me off.    I tell ya, at first I was pretty pissed off, I mean, really?!  But, It’s been less than a week now and I’m really enjoying my time off.   I’ve gotten lots done around the house, and had time to spend with friends.  And, yes, time to get back into my craft room again!  I’m super grateful to have a hubby that will take care of things and let me take some time off.  It would be easy for me to get all negative about how I was laid off, but I won’t.  I’m looking towards the positive in my life and letting karma take care of the rest.  It always does.  :)

So…. here’s my Flutterby card for this week.  Kathy gave us a great sketch to work with, so be sure to hop over to the blog and play along with us!!

And look forward to many more posts from me… now I gotta go, the girls from the office will be here in a few and we’re going to hang out by the pool, have a few drinks, and chat it up like we girls do!!  I love this!!!

I made it to Round 3!

I had a super weekend this weekend!  My husband and I participated in a bike race in Sedona, AZ to support Multiple Sclerosis, called BikeMS.  It was a fabulous turnout – 800+ people!  Saturday we biked 70 miles through the hills of Sedona, and on Sunday we biked 30 miles.  Yep…I rode my bike 100 miles!!  The weather and scenery were just gorgeous, but I’m a little sore now, LOL!!  I was able to raise $405 towards the cause…my goal was $500, so I fell a little short.  If you’re interested in donating, you still can!  Just click here.  You can donate any amount – even just $5 helps!

For any of you Some Odd Girl fans out there, I’m excited to say that I made through to round 3 of the Odd Idol Challenge!  Here was my card for Round 2.  Super excited to be a part of this fun challenge!!  This card uses School Mae - isn’t she sweet?!  I love how the yellow vellum looks over the red polka dot paper!

It’s going to be a super short post today…it’s been a long night and I have a bit of a headache.  I decided to color up this cute pup from Some Odd Girl for the Flutterby Challenge this week.  This week is an open challenge, so all you need to do is use a butterfly or fairy on your card!  Easy Peasy…hope you’ll join us!

And since the challenge at Simon Says Stamp is “things with wings”, I thought I’d throw my name in that hat over there as well!
