Teacher Gift Set

Just a quick post tonight so you know I’m still here. :) Blog land has been pretty quiet, so I think I’m not alone…I’ve been busy busy busy trying to get some Christmas Shopping done and wrapping up my projects for my last gallery with the Dirty Girls {boo hoo}.  I thought I’d share one of my Dirty projects with you from August – it is a gift set for a teacher.
The sentiment on the candle lid says “A good teacher is like a candle.  It consumes itself to light the way for others”…pretty fitting for a candle gift, eh?

I’ll be back on the 15th with a new Copics Creations Challenge!!

Hugs, Jami

Golden!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!  Mine has been busy – trying to get stuff done around the house.  Friday we went to the U of A IceCats (hockey) game.  It was a great time – I really enjoy watching ice hockey. Today we’re in Phoenix for the NASCAR race, and that should be a good time too (I’m typing this on Saturday)!

The 15th is always a big day – not only do I have the Copic Creations Challenge, but it’s also time for the November Dirty Dozen Gallery! We’re welcoming two new girls to the dirt pile – Latisha and Melody – so I hope you’ll pop over and give them a big Splitcoast Welcome!  Here’s a little peak at one of my November creations… hope it’s enough to entice you to the gallery! (*note: you must be a SCS Fan Club Member to view the gallery)

Now…on to the Copic Creations Challenge!!  The challenge this time is to color GOLD!  And we have a fabulous sponsor – I Brake For Stamps! IBFS has an amazing selection of stamps, as you’ll see from the samples  at the Copic Blog – there is definitely something for everyone!  I chose to work with this Gorgeous image called Mother and Child from the Time To Stamp line.  I LOVE this line and want every image there is!!

Della at IBFS has offered a Very Generous prize to the winner!!  The winner will get two full sheets of stamps of their choice! WOW!!  And there are over 150 full sheets to choose from, so I guarantee you’ll find something you can’t live without!  But wait…it gets better…   You don’t have to use an IBFS stamp on your entry, but if you do and you are chosen as the random winner, you can pick a third full sheet of stamps! Holy  Moly!!  What are you waiting for?   I’ll let you in a secret too…Della has some of the fastest shipping out there, so you can order a stamp now and have it in time to color for our challenge if you want to try to get that third free sheet!!

On this one, I worked the gold into her bangle bracelets and also the stars and moon.  For my gold, I used Y11, Y15, Y21, Y26 and Y28.

Did you see the blinkie in my sidebar?  Yep… only 5 more days until New Moon!  I’ve been watching the previews and trailers and drooling a lot in anticipation!  I will be playing along in the New Moon Blog Hop so I hope you’ll find a moment to stop back on the 20th! ;-)   Big Hugs, Jami

Keep The Peace

Well I’ve been busy this weekend working on projects for the November Dirty Gallery, so I thought I would share my very first Dirty Project with you.   I just love the way the bottom of this card turned out with the borderabilties.  I am so addicted to my Spellbinders!  This card doesn’t have any stamps on it.  The sentiment is from a vellum pack, and I sandwiched a Jolee’s 3d sticker underneath it.

Paper: Chocolate Kiss pure luxury (Gina K), DP (Me and My Big Ideas), tan (DCWV)
Accessories: Vellum Sentiment (JoAnn’s), satin ribbon (Michaels), Lattic Pendant die (Spellbinders), Lattice Borderabilities (Spellbinders), Labels #3 (Spellbinders), silver brads, A Day at the beach sticker (Jolee’s)

Copic Creations…blog candy…and a peek!

I’ll start today’s post with the winner of my Blogaversary candy…. I have to tell you, I was really excited to see that MARGIE won!!  When I started blogging a year ago, Margie was one of the very first people I “met”.  She started her blog around the same time I did.  And, hers was the very first blog candy I ever entered, and won!   She is such a sweet sweet friend and great talent (and she also hooked me onto Twilight and Edward!!!).  So Margie – I’ll get this in the mail to you and can’t wait to see your bows!

……………………………..

OK… now for a little peek…This has been an insanely busy month for me with a new job and getting settled back into the house, the kids starting back to school, etc, etc, etc, etc…..  But this past week I’ve been busy in the studio and that’s because the 15th is the new Dirty Gallery!!  This month’s theme was a fun one to work with and has so many possibilities.  And there are two new girls joining the dirt pile… ASHLEY (you MUST go watch her video..too cute!) and KAREN …so head over and give them a warm welcome!!  They are both totally awesome!

……………………………………………………………………………………………..

And last, but certainly not least, the Copic Creations Challenge!!  You don’t want to miss this one!  My dear friend Susana from Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD) is sponsoring this challenge.  It’s extra special because today is actually Susana’s Birthday!!!  Susana is one of the most generous people I’ve known, and I feel so very blessed to have her in my life.  She really puts her heart into her store and her relationships with her customers.  I guarantee that you will never be disappointed in your dealings with her!

For this challenge, she sent everyone on the team a new stamp to work with, and we were challenged to use red and pinks and hearts on our cards.

For the background on this, I used the Fold ‘Em template #5 to do the cutwork on the vellum.  I love the texture these cutting templates add – they looks so intricate, but are so easy to use!

Guess what the prize is for this Copic Creations challenge?!?!?  Susana is giving away an entire set of the NEW COPIC COLORS! Yep….you read that right…. all 12 new colors.  That’s a $60 prize!!  Didn’t I tell ya she was generous!!??!!

I also want to take just a minute to tell you that next week there’s a new release of Victoria Case stamps at SCACD….and they are completely adorable.

I’ll be back on the 17th for the JustRite Blog Hop….more fun and more prizes! :)

Hugs, Jami
