Miss Rosalie’s Roses

I LOVE making Valentines cards!!!  I love the sweet sugary colors, the flowers and hearts, and the sweet images that are available for Valentines Day!!  I adore little Miss Rosalie with her Roses.  I colored her with Copics and added a little sparkle to the Roses with a clear glitter pen.  I attempted to “go bigger” for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge.  I’m not sure how successful I  was, but it encouraged me to use the large heart that overlaps the edge of the card, and to double up on my bow!

I finished off the inside of the card with another heart!!

I Love You

I had so much fun doing a couple of challenges today with my new Miss Rosalie Swiss Pixie!  Isn’t she just the sweetest??  I wanted to make a Valentines card, but didn’t want to use the standard pinks and reds…so the challenge at OCCC was perfect – blues and greens.  I pulled out my Nook and Pantry papers and started there.  I paper pieced Rosalie’s dress with the same paper, adding a bit of copic for shading (on the heart too).   This great sketch is from the Clearly Inspired Challenge #5 Those perfectly matched pearls along the bottom are from the new Zva Wheel Container.  I love this little container – you get lots of little pearls in different colors for just a couple dollars!

{{Please click the above picture to see it really close up so you can really see the sparkle!!}}

And I just LOVE these little flowers!  Here’s a great hint for these…. get the package of white flowers (you get 100 of them for about $6 – gonga deal!) Then, just use your favorite color Spritz  (check out all the colors here) to add color and sparkle.  I spritzed these each with a squirt of Eucalyptus Shimmerz Spritz!  Voila…sparkly flowers in the color you want!!    The flourishes were cut on my Cricut with the Seranade cartridge, and the heart is a Nestabilities with a bit of BG10 Copic around the edge.

OK… for those of you interested…here’s me on my new bike!  We went for a ride today and I am totally in love with this bike, it rides like a dream and corners like no other bike I’ve ridden.  I was in heaven!

Flutterby

It feels like such a long time since I’ve been able to play along in a challenge. So, I thought I’d do the Flutter-By-Wednesday sketch this week!!  I just love these sweet CC Design images.  This is one of the Swiss Pixies named Gretel!  I paper pieced her dress with some JuneBug paper by Basic Grey, and colored the rest of her with Copics.  Her wings were colored with Fire Engine Red Shimmerz.  The little holly leaves in the corner were covered with Angel Wings Shimmerz.

This was a fun sketch!  Thanks Danni and Mercy!!!  I had such fun making this!

October Copic Creation Challenge

Hard to believe it’s already October!!  I love making Fall cards and Halloween projects – I just love the warm and vibrant colors of this season and the sweet images.  This week we are being sponsored by All That Scraps at the Copic Creations Challenge!  I Adore the CC Designs images, and the September images are just too cute for words!  I have quite a collection of the Emma and the Swiss Pixie digi images.

The challenge this time is PUMPKINS!  I love watching my boys carve pumpkins every year, they are so creative.  There’s a HUGE pumpkin patch (Apple Annies) near us and the boys pick out their own pumpkins each year.

I was having so much fun coloring Emma that I completely forgot to write down which Copics I used.  Sorry.  I added some dimension with the wagon, her arm and her bangs.  The clouds and ground were done with pastels.

So, now head over to the Copic Creations blog and check out what the rest of the girls did. All I can say is W-O-W! The girls really rocked it this time!! And I hope you’ll play along with us – color up your favorite pumpkin image with Copics and you’ll be entered for an awesome prize from All That Scraps!! I wish I could play!
