Pretty Poppy

There are a bunch of really cute digi’s over at Tiddly Inks! This cutie is one of the Goth Cuties – called Poppy.  The Tiddly Inks challenge this week is end of summer.  I thought Poppy was appropriately holding her last summer flower.  I also used some June Bug papers by Basic Grey to say farewell to Summer.  I’m also entering this in the Oh Alice challenge this week which is to use a little girl…I think Poppy qualifies! :)

I have been wanting to crochet on my cards for a while, and finally did it.  I have always admired the crocheting that Stacey Cohen does on her scrap pages, she is my inspiration on this one.  And the challenge at Cute Card Thursday is Material Girl – used some kind of material.  So,  my crocheting is my material! :)

thanks for stopping by!!

Copic Reflections

Well, I am now back from seeing my baby boy graduate from basic training.  Wow, it wasn’t until I saw him standing there in uniform that it hit me that my baby is now a grown man.  I am so proud of him!!!

I also came home to find that I won the Shining Light award at the ODBD Blog!  Thanks!!

It looks like I am going to be around for a while, that my work-trip is postponed, so the Copic Creations Challenge gals have graciously allowed me to jump right back in!  Thanks girls!!  And this week the challenge is coloring reflections.  There are some tutorials listed over on the Copic Creations Challenge Blog, so I hope you’ll join in on the fun!!  There’s an awesome prize…..a copic class from Suzanne!

I used one of my new favorite stamp sets – Puppy Love available at There She Goes.  It is the cutest set, with tons of little images and adorable quotes!

To get my reflection, I stamped the image onto a ziploc baggie, then transferred the image from the baggie to the paper.  It’s not the clearest imprint, but for a reflection it doesn’t need to be (in my opinion).  After I colored it with softer shades of the image colors, I covered it in clear embossing powder.  I was going for a look of reflection on a wet ground after the rain…. what do you think?

And here’s the inside, with one of the sentiments and another of the images from this cute set.
Supplies:
Paper: Chocolate Brown (GinaK), Green at Heart (Basic Grey), Nennah White, glossy white
Stamps: Puppy Love (There she Goes)
Accessories: Border punch (martha stewart), half pearls, button, satin ribbon, tuxedo black memento ink

In Our Prayers

I had some time today to create and needed some inspiration for a card, so I thought I would try to play along in a few challenges.

The challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is “three of something”. I’ve got lots of threes going on in this card.
- three flowers
- three butterflies
- three pearls on each butterfly
- three different patterned papers

The Basic Grey Challenge is to use pearls….. I’ve got lots of pearls on this card! I used two papers from the Green at Heart pack, and the green pattern is a scrap from one of my other BG Packs, but I can’t remember which one.

The Etsy Inspired Challenge has a great store for inspiration this week. I used this sweet charm for inspiration of my butterflies (both the punched ones and there are butterflies in the background paper), and for the colors of my card.

My sketch was inspired by the CPS179 Sketch. They have the greatest sketches!

And last, but most certainly not least, the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge. Because how can you possibly make a card with so many butterflies and not think of this challenge! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

And don’t forget about my

Blogaversary Celebrations

Farm Fresh Friday wishes

I’ll keep it short and sweet today as I am typing this Thursday night and I’m beat. What a week it’s been already!

This week at the Farm, Mary has given us an awesome sketch to work with! I decided to use Laurie with Present for this one, she is still my favorite critter of all.

I also couldn’t resist using some of my new Max and Whiskers paper from Basic Grey – I just LOVE these colors, and the adorable prints.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!
