Whiff of Joy

This is one of my favorite stamps ever – every time I look at anything drawn by Allison Acton, it just puts a big smile on my face.  I started with the sketch at the Whiff of Joy Challenge, though looking at it now, it seems I missed the bow.   I colored Maid Charlotte with my Copics, then added some Ritz Glitter and some pearl drops with a Viva Decor pen.  I made the little flower from some felt and added some Ritz Glitter to it as well for some sparkle.

Whiff of Joy challenge blog is also looking for an addition to their team if anyone is looking to try out!

Hugs, Jami

A new copic challenge

Well this week is really a fun challenge at the Copic Creations Challenge blog!  This time, we challenge you to use your Copics on materials other than paper!  Wait till you see all the cool things the team has come up with!  I was playing around the other day with my Copics on some glossy chipboard pieces, and I love how the inks smeared and let me come up with this almost marble-like texture.  And our sponsor this time is none other than…..COPIC!!! Wahoo!!!  And the prize?  a set of 12 Copic Markers!  Too awesome!!!

I started with layer of the lightest color to get the surface “wet”, then added colors from darkest to lightest, smearing them here and there to blend a little.  The butterfly was punched, and the leaves were cut on the cricut, then sprayed with low-tack adhesive and covered with Ritz Glitter.

2 cards 2-day

I have a couple of cards to share today. The first one is a card I made for a wedding we went to yesterday. The wedding colors were red, white & black with polka dots. It was adorable! The girls had black and white polka dot dresses with red flowers in their hair and red sash/belts. The guys were in black with red. Very cool!  The sentiment is one of my stamps from the Value of Joy set.  The DP is from June Bug (Basic Grey) and I used my new Labels #11  nesites around the sentiment.
My favorite part of this card though is the punched top.  I punched the DP with the martha stewart trefoil heart border.  Then, on the black layer under it, I put a strip of 1/2″ Sookwang Tape and covered it with Silver Ritz Glitter.  I love how all the hearts are sparkly now!!

The second card is one I just made for fun using up some of the scraps on my craft table. I inked up Ian a couple of weeks ago and colored him, and finally got around to putting him on a card!!  I cut the letters and the little black ninja star out on my Cricut  I scored the orange background panel, and ran the black panel through the tiny mosaic cuttlebug folder.  I colored Skater Ian with my Copics, and used Spica Glitter pens on the star on his shirt and his skateboard.  Then I used my Tim Holz distresser to distress the edges of the orange panel behind Ian.  I think this makes for a cute boy card.

Farm Fresh Sketch

It’s time for another Farm Fresh Friday challenge!  And this week, Mary has given us this awesome sketch to work with!!  Hopefully you can see the sketch in my card…. Laurie actually takes the place of that middle strip.  See it? :)   Laurie is my favorite of the critters.  I think skunks are adorable!!  This is a digi-stamp called Laurie daydreaming.  In the stamp, she is sitting on a toadstool, but I cut her out and set her on the horizontal strip of the sketch.

I pulled out an older stack of Basic Grey paper – Wisteria.  I just ordered some of the new Green at Heart, and I thought I better try to use up some of the stash I have on hand!  Laurie was colored with Copics, then I used my Tombow glue pen on the little bows of her dress and the petals of the flower to add the Lavendar Ritz Glitter.  I’m totally addicted to this stuff!  I have to be honest, I have never cared for glitter, but I think I’ll end up buying every single color this stuff comes in!!  For the sentiment, I used the Tsukineko Glue Pad to stamp the sentiment, the added the glitter!  I’ve had this glue pad forever, and I think this is the first I’ve used it!! Very cool…first time I tried it, and you can see I smeared a bit because I was too impatient to wait for it to dry…but this is a technique I will definitely be playing more with!!

Well that’s it for me tonight… I hope everyone is having a great week!  I will say that I am most definitely ready for the weekend!!

Hugs,
Jami
