Black and White {and pink}

I’m not really too sure how I feel about this card.  part of me loves it, but part of me just wants to add more colors!!   The challenge over at MarkerPop is to color an image monochromatic.  I used my favorite Wryn image.  I just had to color the heart pink though!  I stamped the little hearts on the black panel then embossed them.  The hearts and the sentiment are from MFT.

It’s been a great weekend.  Went for a 28 mile bike ride with my hubby this morning.  The weather was just gorgeous!  We were in the mid 70′s today.  It’s back to work tomorrow for me.  Hope everyone has a great week!

You are Amazing

It’s been a lazy weekend for me, and I’ve really enjoyed it.  The past few months have been so hectic and busy that a slow weekend at home was just what I needed.  Yesterday I ran a few errands and did a little laundry with hubby then relaxed all evening.  Today I went for a 4 mile run, then soaked in the tub, then spent the afternoon watching HGTV and playing in my craft room.  I’m sure I could’ve gotten a lot done around the house, but, hey – it’ll all be there next weekend waiting for me.

I created this for the Featured Stamper challenge over at SCS today.  I used the sketch, but changed the colors and image.  I used another digi of Wryn from Tiddly Inks.  The sentiment is from Sweet-n-Sassy.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  Back to work tomorrow – Blah! I’d rather stay home and craft!!

Hearts a Flutter

I have had my eye on this sweet image from Tiddly Inks for a very long time.  I finally caved today and purchased a few of the digi’s of Wryn.  Isn’t she adorable?!?  The sketch is the Deconstructing Jen sketch #83.  Jen’s having a DT Call, and I thought I’d give it a shot.  I love her sketches!!

Edited to Add (ETA):  I decided to try out my new speedlite flash that I got from Santa this year to see if I could improve on my photos a bit.  Still not where I’d like them to be, but hey, I’m learning.  :)   This next photo was taken with the flash, in automatic mode.  The photo above was taken without a flash (with my daylight lamp shining on the card) in manual mode.  I think I prefer the speedlite photo better, but I do like that without the flash you really see the sparkle of the stickles.    I guess I need to read the manual and learn to use the new flash in manual and see if I can capture the sparkle.

The other difference is that in the first photo I used two sheets of white card stock (below and behind the card).  In the next photo I just set the card on a cream colored table.  The black behind is actually the granite of my fireplace.  I think I like how the black background makes the photo pop more.

Which photo do you prefer???  Please leave a comment and let me know.  I’d love to hear your feedback.
