Flutter By Valentine

Time for a Flutter By Wednesday Challenge!  This time I thought I’d try a CAS card (Clean and Simple).  I keep seeing so many beautiful CAS cards, and I really would like to be able to do these cards better.  I have a tendency to add so many embellishments to my cards, and then I don’t send them to anyone because they won’t fit in envelopes!  So perhaps if I can master the CAS card, I will actually send them to people!

The challenge this week at Flutter By Wednesdays is to incorporate a heart into your creation.  Of course, you must also use either a butterfly or fairy on your project too as usual.  I hope you’ll join us with this fun challenge!FBW227

I found some other fun CAS challenges to help keep me on track with this….

Valentine

I had a little bit of time to play in my craft room this weekend, so I thought I’d play along in the SCS CAS challenge.  I really struggle with CAS cards, so my goal it to try at least one a week and see if I can get more comfortable with them.  I love the looks of them, I just always finding myself wanting to add “one more thing”!

CASvalentineThis fun little cupid is from Make It Crafty.  He’s a cute little digi-stamp I picked up last year but never had a chance to color.   I figured it was time to show him some love with Copics.  I added a bit of sparkle to his wings with my favorite Sakura Stardust pen.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  We spent the weekend de-cluttering the house.  We’re selling our motorcycles – I put mine on Craigslist this morning and it sold in less than 4 hours!  I couldn’t believe it.  Makes me wonder if I didn’t ask enough for it.   Back to work tomorrow…

Simple

I needed a distraction today, so I thought I’d give the Clean and Simple (CAS) challenge at SCS a try.  I don’t know if I’ve ever made a CAS card in my life.  More is better, right?  I like to use ribbons and layers and buttons and layers and glitter and layers and flowers and layers…  but I have always loved the look of CAS cards.  I guess I just don’t know when to stop.

CASpostcardThis card uses the PostCard stamps from Sweet-n-Sassy.  I’ve had this set for quite some time and it was craving some ink, so when I saw the challenge was to make a postage related card I knew it had to come out and get some love.  What do you think?  Is it too naked?  I kept wanting to doodle black lines around the edges of the craft.  Or add stitching. It was so hard to stop!!
