New Moon Blog Hop!

Are you all totally excited about New Moon finally getting here?!?!  I have been looking forward to this for quite some time.  I honestly don’t remember the last time I looked forward to seeing a movie this much.   I was thrilled to pieces when my buddy Margie asked me if I wanted to participate in the New Moon Blog Hop!  Of Course I do!!!

I hate to admit, but I don’t have much in the way of Twilight stamps.  So, I went to one of my favorite sources for artwork and found this awesome drawing!  I printed it and colored it with Copic markers.   Then I cut it out and popped it up on foam tape.  For the background, I used a piece of midnight blue linen cardstock and sprayed it with Tuscan Sun Shimmerz Spritz.  I purposely held the bottle close when I sprayed to get a spotted look…doesn’t it look like twinkling stars in the sky?  For the New Moon, I cut a circle with my nesties from cream card stock and sprayed it heavily with the Tuscan Sun Shimmerz Spritz as well.  What do you think?

Of course, the inside needed a little something too… I used the Twilight font and printed this saying from the New Moon book.  I know so many people dote and love on Edward and/or Jacob and Bella; however, for me personally one of the things I that really drew me into this series was the closeness of the Cullen Family.  So few families have a closeness like that, for the short time we’re on here on earth, let alone for century after century.  This is really one of my favorite parts of the storyline.

So, are you ready to hop??  If you didn’t start from the beginning – you’ll want to go back and start there.  The beginning is at the Twilight Tuesday Blog!

If you came here from Tia’s blog, then you’re right on track.  And your next stop is Eve’s Blog!  So hop on over there for some more Twilight Goodness.

Big Hugs, Jami

Golden!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!  Mine has been busy – trying to get stuff done around the house.  Friday we went to the U of A IceCats (hockey) game.  It was a great time – I really enjoy watching ice hockey. Today we’re in Phoenix for the NASCAR race, and that should be a good time too (I’m typing this on Saturday)!

The 15th is always a big day – not only do I have the Copic Creations Challenge, but it’s also time for the November Dirty Dozen Gallery! We’re welcoming two new girls to the dirt pile – Latisha and Melody – so I hope you’ll pop over and give them a big Splitcoast Welcome!  Here’s a little peak at one of my November creations… hope it’s enough to entice you to the gallery! (*note: you must be a SCS Fan Club Member to view the gallery)

Now…on to the Copic Creations Challenge!!  The challenge this time is to color GOLD!  And we have a fabulous sponsor – I Brake For Stamps! IBFS has an amazing selection of stamps, as you’ll see from the samples  at the Copic Blog – there is definitely something for everyone!  I chose to work with this Gorgeous image called Mother and Child from the Time To Stamp line.  I LOVE this line and want every image there is!!

Della at IBFS has offered a Very Generous prize to the winner!!  The winner will get two full sheets of stamps of their choice! WOW!!  And there are over 150 full sheets to choose from, so I guarantee you’ll find something you can’t live without!  But wait…it gets better…   You don’t have to use an IBFS stamp on your entry, but if you do and you are chosen as the random winner, you can pick a third full sheet of stamps! Holy  Moly!!  What are you waiting for?   I’ll let you in a secret too…Della has some of the fastest shipping out there, so you can order a stamp now and have it in time to color for our challenge if you want to try to get that third free sheet!!

On this one, I worked the gold into her bangle bracelets and also the stars and moon.  For my gold, I used Y11, Y15, Y21, Y26 and Y28.

Did you see the blinkie in my sidebar?  Yep… only 5 more days until New Moon!  I’ve been watching the previews and trailers and drooling a lot in anticipation!  I will be playing along in the New Moon Blog Hop so I hope you’ll find a moment to stop back on the 20th! ;-)   Big Hugs, Jami

House Mouse, Twilight and Shimmerz

No, silly, not together….  I have two cards to share today.     And brace yourself, it’s a long post so I hope you’ll stick with me.

First is my card for the House Mouse challenge this week.  This week is a sketch challenge, and it’s a fun one!  Even better, the challenge is being sponsored by KL Stampin’ and Scrappin‘ and their DT is joining us on the House Mouse blog with samples.  So, head over to there to get all the details of the sketch and the prize (An awesome paper pack!)

This little Hopper in the tub is so cute, but he looked so lonely with a tub surrounded by white paper.  So, I drew in some tiles and wall coverings for his little bathroom.  The image was colored with Copics.  And Sky Blue Shimmerz was added to the bubbles!

For the circle part of the sketch, I really didn’t want to cover up that yummy paisley DP, so I used a scalloped nestie to cut out some vellum.  Then I used my Crop-o-Dile to punch out some dots from some scraps of self-adhesive fun foam.  After I stuck them on the vellum, I added some Sky Blue Shimmerz to them too!  Shimmerz works great on fun foam!

Here’s the inside…nothing fancy.

Recipe:
Stamps: Happy Hopper (RAK)
Paper:Blue (DCWV), White (GP) Paisley & light blue (Cosmo – Blue Silk Scarf), Vellum
Tools & Accessories: fun foam sticker, Sky Blue Shimmerz, ribbon, circle embossing folder,

I have a small confession to make with this next card.  I have been telling Margie forever that I would read Twilight.  Margie is on the Twilight Tuesday challenge design team.  Well, she sent me the first book and I could not put it down once I started.  I am hopelessly addicted.  I am totally crushing on Edward.  If you haven’t read this amazing love story, you are seriously missing out!!!   So, this week I wanted to play along with the Twilight Tuesday challenge. The challenge was to create a birthday card.  It could be inspired by Bella’s 18th Birhday party, which is why I used these lovely pink roses.  I colored them with my Copics and added Bubble Gum Shimmerz in areas to make them sparkle.

Recipe:
Stamps: Year of Flowers (GinaK)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: White (GP) Navy (DCWV)
Accessories: Navy Velvet Ribbon (unknown), Bubble Gum Shimmerz
Copics: RV11, RV29

Are you still with me????

Last but not least, I leave you with some great news from Shimmerz!!  NEW COLORS!!  AND A new website!!  There will be four new colors of Shimmerz and two new colors of Blingz available in April.  Check them out here!

Hugs,
Jami
