Maggie in Wonderland!

Wahooooooo….my first post as part of the Critter Crew at The Greeting Farm! I’m so thrilled to be part of this fabulous group.  Also joining the Critter Crew is Heather!!  Heather and I have been blogging friends since the beginning of our blogs, so what a treat to get to be on a DT with her again!!      I know Heather is just as excited as I am to be joining the rest of the crew…

Sparkle

For the challenge this week at Farm Fresh Friday , Jess challenged us in true Alice Fashion with “Down The Rabbit Hole”.  Well, Maggie here is my favorite little rabbit, so here’s what I came up with for the challenge.

I used some of the new ultrafine FlowerSoft on the little dust bunnies, and my sakura glaze pen on the water for some shine.  I sponged distress ink along the edges, and I think I got carried away, but maybe that’s just more dust that Maggie has stirred up. :)

The sentiment I printed on the computer using the Beyond Wonderland Font.

Hugs,
Jami

Just For You

The new Moments in Time stamps from FlowerSoft are so darling!!  7KidsCollegeFund carries the entire stamp line, and has a great selection of the original FlowerSoft, and all the new UltraFine FlowerSoft! This cutie is called Just For You I colored her with Copics (listed below) then added FlowerSoft to her bouquet and to the flowers on the ground.  The paper is the new Sugar Rush collection by Basic Grey, and the silver is actually stickers that I picked up at CHA by a company called JeJe.

Tuesday and a contest

OK, I admit, my creativity is about non-existent when it comes to my blog titles.     Before I get to my Try it out Tuesday post today, I’d like to mention some fun blog candy that my friend Betty is offering!  Betty and I became friends when I first started stamping and blogging – we were on the Our Daily Bread designs team together.  Betty also was my very first customer when I started designing blog banners!  Now, a year later, she has come up with a really fun idea to celebrate her Blogaversary.  While I’m not really in the banner design business any more (just no time since I started back to work) I am very excited to be part of her Blogaversary celebration. I really enjoy creating banners and still do them as I find time.

Betty is offering up a blog banner designed by me.  But, it’s a challenge…you need to create a card reflecting how you’d like your banner to look and submit it to her blog via Mr. Linky :)

Read all about it HERE on Betty’s Blog!

And now for my Try It Out Tuesday Post… This week we were challenged to use FlowerSoft on our cards. I used this sweet Elisabeth Bell image – Danni. I colored her with Copic markers and used my pastels to stencil some clouds behind her. For the bottom die cut, I used the Spades pendant, then I cut Danni out with the Labels #4 die. I used some @You Copic glitter pens on the butterflies, and some sugar sparkly fluff for the dandelion seeds. Danni is standing in a bed of Fuschia FlowerSoft.

Here’s a close up where you can see the sparkly fluff and the glittery butterflies!!   Oh… and those ribbon roses….I got a lot of emails about how I made them on my last post.  And here they are again.  I just got a new iPod Nano with the video camera, so I’m hoping to have a little video tutorial on how to make these real soon…so check back.

Be sure to stop by the rest of the teams blogs and see what they’ve made today using FlowerSoft.  You’ll find all their links in my sidebar under the SCACD Blinkie!!

Try it out Tuesday…

This week’s Try It Out Tuesday for SCACD is a sketch challenge, with the additional requirement of making it a birthday card.   Hmmm…..I did the wrong sketch!  I used the July SCACD sketch for the PCP group instead.  Ooops.  But I’m still going to share my card with you because I do like how it turned out.

I just got a whole bunch of Basic Grey paper pads from SCACD.  I got the new Lemonade and June Bug….but I am in love with this Wisteria!!  The whole card revolved around this paper!

Alexa was colored with Copic markers, then I added violet FlowerSoft to some of the flowers for dimension.  I also sprinkled in just a tiny bit of Spring FlowerSoft for a few bits of yellow.   All the layers were cut using the large curved rectangle nesties.  Then I added a touch of sparkle to her jewelry and peace sign with a gold AtYou Copic glitter pen!

I plan to add a Susana-ment on the inside that says “Have a Groovy Birthday!”

You will definitely want to head over to the store blog (Follow Your Heart) today and check out the Elisabeth Bell BLOG CANDY! And while you’re there, check out all the samples by the rest of the team (who did the right sketch!) :)

Hugs, Jami
