I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! We had a very quiet day just hanging out at the house with the kids. We cooked up a turkey, potatoes, green bean casserole and pumpkin cobbler. Yummy!! The boys asked why we didn’t have turkey dinner more often. Good question, cause it wasn’t very hard to cook.
I was in the mood to make some Holiday cards, and thought I would use some of Mo’s images for the Digital Pencil challenge this week. The challenge is to create a Christmas scene using at least two images. Well…I took two maybe not-so-Christmas images to create mine. I used a couple of the freebies that Mo has so generously given on her SNR page. The first is the “They Grow So Fast”…it’s a Jack & the beanstalk image. I used my Lasso tool in PhotoShop to grab Jack out of the image, then flipped him around so he was looking up from the left side. Then I used the adorable “Home Tweet Home” image. I erased the words on the sign and used a text tool to write Happy Holidays.
The image was colored with Copic Markers. I thought it looked like this little guy was holding a bag of bird seed, and I love how it looks like he’s looking up at those sweet sweet birds!! On the bottom layer, I used my brand spankin’ new Cricut Expression to cut the “merry” out. I love how this looks! I got an amazing deal this morning on the Cricut at WalMart. Totally worth going out on Black Friday! Hubby can wrap the empty box and put it under the tree for me, but I’m using that baby now! Too fun!
Also…on the topic of Cricuts…I just found another blog for the new Gypsy that goes with the Cricut. And they are giving one away!! Check it Out!! It’s called The Gypsy Spot!
