Hearts a Flutter

I have had my eye on this sweet image from Tiddly Inks for a very long time.  I finally caved today and purchased a few of the digi’s of Wryn.  Isn’t she adorable?!?  The sketch is the Deconstructing Jen sketch #83.  Jen’s having a DT Call, and I thought I’d give it a shot.  I love her sketches!!

Edited to Add (ETA):  I decided to try out my new speedlite flash that I got from Santa this year to see if I could improve on my photos a bit.  Still not where I’d like them to be, but hey, I’m learning.  :)   This next photo was taken with the flash, in automatic mode.  The photo above was taken without a flash (with my daylight lamp shining on the card) in manual mode.  I think I prefer the speedlite photo better, but I do like that without the flash you really see the sparkle of the stickles.    I guess I need to read the manual and learn to use the new flash in manual and see if I can capture the sparkle.

The other difference is that in the first photo I used two sheets of white card stock (below and behind the card).  In the next photo I just set the card on a cream colored table.  The black behind is actually the granite of my fireplace.  I think I like how the black background makes the photo pop more.

Which photo do you prefer???  Please leave a comment and let me know.  I’d love to hear your feedback.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Hugs, Jami

    Gorgeous coloring! Wonderful card!

I like both pictures but I think the second one is clearer? I wonder if the black background made a big difference. It would be interesting to compare the two with the same background.

Hi Jamie, I just love this card and your coloring technique is spectacular. Your choice of papers and colors worked fabulously with your image and the sparkle is just amazing. I was hoping you would make the DT for the Deconstructed Sketch. I love your work.
